Tummy Tuck Your Way

Modified Tummy Tuck

A modified abdominal tuck addresses the condition where only the abdominal wall or only the abdominal skin requires surgical repair. It is a little more involved than a partial tummy tuck. It is ideal for people with more saggy skin, or a minor abdominal muscle wall defect. It also requires an incision that may be slightly larger than that of the mini-tummy tuck. The scar, however, is not as long as that from the standard or extended tummy tuck. The scar is also minimal and usually underneath the bikini line.

In a modified tummy tuck, a small area of the abdominal wall will be exposed, and the repair will be completed. If there is loose skin, that will also be stretched downward to tighten the stomach. Again, like in the mini-tummy tuck, excess skin will be removed and the cut will be sutured, leaving a little scar. This may require more recovery time than a mini-tuck, but you should be able to go back to most of your daily activities within a few days.
